The Festival of Grapes Passes in China

img From August to September in Chinese town Turpan, located on east of province of Xinjiang, the annual festival of grapes passes. For tourists ( the China visa is necessary for entrance to the country ) it is not just occasion to know more about the main agricultural culture of region, it's possibility to become acquainted with life of remote province.

Turpan, standing on the segment of the Great silk way, is inhabited uygurami, hearings the confession of islam. The cuisine of Turpan reminds Central-Asiatic more, than Chinese, and a language which a local population speaks on is one of Turkic dialects.

Turpan is picturesque small town with benevolent locals, real oasis in the middle of the fierce Chinese heat. Nearly every house owner in Turpan is engaged in viniculture, and it is always possible to purchase, probably, most sweet raisin in the world on local markets. During all the year life in Turpan seems meditation, but it comes back to life, when a festival begins, a site Whatsonwhen reports. Tourists can see how the traditional uygurskie weddings pass or take part in competitions on eating up of grapes.
